The Juke Joint Story
Juke Joint BBQ brings authentic southern style barbeque cuisine to New Zealand.
We cook low-and-slow, smoking meat and vegetables over sustainably harvested NZ wood such as manuka and pohutukawa, as well as fruit woods such as apple and pear. This cooking technique renders meat incredibly tender, whilst the spice rub and smoke from smoldering logs creates delicious and complex flavours.
Juke Joint BBQ's menu features slow-cooked meat and vegetables served naked, or in a sourdough bun with coleslaw and a selection of house-made sauces.
Tender Lamb Shoulder is rubbed in a kawakawa spice then smoked. Our Beef Brisket is slow-cooked for 14 hours. Thick-sliced Pastrami is brined, spiced and incredibly lean. Our Pork Ribs are spicy and smoky, whilst our succulent Lamb Ribs are sweet, fatty and fall off the bone.
Our Smoked and Fried Chicken (SFC) is gently smoked and then soaked in buttermilk before being fried until it is crispy and golden brown.
Vegetarians and Vegans are well catered for with delicious melt-in-your-mouth Smoked Tofu, and our Pulled Jackfruit will fool the most hardened carnivore!
Our Fresh Salads are the perfect accompaniment to any meal, or substantial enough to be a meal in itself, especially when you add the Naked Meat or Naked Vege of your choice.
Hot sides include Tater Tots (fluffy crunchy potato balls), Burnt-end Beans, Collard Greens and famous McClure’s Dill Pickles.
Juke Joint BBQ is located within all the Brothers Beer sites at Mount Eden, Orakei, Onehunga and in the City Works Depot. All our food is available for takeaway, or look us up on UberEats and get fresh BBQ delivered to your home or work. We cater large functions - either at your place or ours.
